Washington DC 2018

KKAD led a transformative renovation of the Washington Hilton, a Mid-Century Modern landmark originally designed by renowned architect William Tabler. Our design respects the building’s iconic 'double-arc' geometry while modernizing its expansive hospitality spaces. Through previous renovations, the property had been stripped of its modernist soul. The final design married the massive scale of the building with intimate, bespoke architectural details and earned multiple design and construction awards for our firm and our construction partner (HITT Contracting).
